Why you should have these timeless pieces.
It is indeed that time of the year again when we get to feel the warm breeze, soak in the sun and express ourselves in our various bright summery outfits!
I for one can’t wait to feel the sun wearing my latest Adencollections African print set, and crop to, indulging in chocolate ice cream, with my dark shades in minding the business that pays me, lol.
Let’s get right into it! What are you looking forward to doing this summer? Travelling? The beach? I am curious! Summer is an exciting time to be in, it’s a full experience and we get to see the best fashion trends then, if you ask me. I have a lot of picks for this year’s trending summer wear but these top 5 stand out for me.
MY LIST
Go Afrocentric
Shift dresses
Kimono
Silk dresses
Go Afrocentric
You see this particular one? It’s a must-have! lol, I’m always excited about African prints (duh, I am African). The colour pop, vibrancy, texture and print designs, what’s not to love.
The other day I wore this bubu to a wedding and had heads turning, it wasn’t your usual bubu at all, this one was extra rich aunty vibes, lol, the kind that attracts the six-figure circle and guess what? I made it myself. Have a sneak peek!
Shift Dresses
Just like your little black dress, you should have a shift dress for any event, it’s versatile, chic and you can easily pair with different things like a panty hose, high boots, leggings, or biker shorts.
Shifts dresses are so playful, you should go for them in popping colours for the summer, get stylish with it, ministration shifts, short jacket dresses, paired with accessories to die for.

Kimonos
These are kinda similar to bubus but in form of jackets and throw-ones. They come in all sorts of fabric, from crepe to silk to cotton and also in lovely prints, think about beach-style inspiration, soaking up the sun!
Kimonos can be worn with shorts or long breezy pants, don’t forget your sunscreen and fashionable hat girl!
There is no way kimonos are going out of style anytime soon baby.
Silk dresses
That feminine touch, sultry, flow, charm and command of attention, this is what Silk/ Satin does. It blends with your shape, and ripple effect and compliments your silhouette. If you have a wedding/ dinner reception, I’d suggest this for you, I’ll be dropping some styles as well for your indulgence. Summer is coming guys, you should be ready to slay!
